NRC provides customised oil spill equipment packages for both onshore and offshore oil & gas exploration programs worldwide. By working in partnership with its clients, NRC tailors its equipment packages to meet clients’ specific operational needs.
Maintaining on-site oil spill response equipment during oil & gas exploration programs is increasingly becoming a standard requirement around the world. As oil exploration expands more and more into remote geographical locations, companies face conditions where the emergency response infrastructure is often limited or nonexistent. Having worked under a wide range of challenging conditions, we have the experience and expertise to fulfil clients’ on-site emergency response requirements during this critical exploration phase.
Whether equipment is required for a limited period during a drilling program or a more comprehensive emergency response approach is needed, we can provide a package of equipment and services tailored on a by-client, by-project basis.
Our Equipment:
The selection of equipment for either onshore or offshore oil spill packages is determined by a variety of factors, including: local regulatory requirements; environmental sensitivity of the location; the potential oil type (where known); in-country availability of support resources; and the many logistical support requirements pertaining to the area of operations.
For offshore response, NRC can provide both single-ship and multi-ship systems, which are typically supplied in ISO containers and may include:
Containment boom
Skimmers
Floating and/or deck storage for recovered oils
Dispersant and spray systems
Pumps & other miscellaneous equipment
Onshore packages typically also include containment, recovery and storage equipment but often consist of lighter or smaller equipment that can be easily man-handled and used in rivers and other small watercourses.
In addition to the equipment itself, NRC can provide:
Logistical support for on-time delivery of equipment all over the world
In-country training in the deployment and operation of equipment, including clients’ staff, boat crews, local community personnel.
On-site provision of regular maintenance, refresher training and other technical consultancy as needed
On-site availability of NRC personnel throughout the drilling program.
Development and/or update of emergency response plans and response preparedness exercise management
We work closely with our oil & gas clients’ operations, logistics and HSE personnel to ensure coverage even in the most remote locations. Should a spill occur, clients can call on us for additional response support. When exploration transitions to production, we are also on-hand to provide customized in-country Tier 2 and associated solutions for the longer term.
